It is with great pride and joy that we introduce to you MP Jean Augustine- one of our customers here at NutmegSpiced who has made a huge impact in Canada, especially for the Grenadian community.
It is safe to say that without her ambitious nature, courageous attitude and relentless determination that we would not be able to reap the benefits and fruits from her labor that we have been able to take advantage of today. She has paved the way for all of us here in Canada. We can certainly learn from her many accomplishments that helping others and providing a service to your community can certainly make a positive change. Jean Augustine was born September 9, 1937 in Happy Hill, Grenada. In 1995 she brought Black History Month to Canada and it has trickled across the nation and ever since then, we have been able to not only remember the way things were being in captivity, but to celebrate the freedoms in which we have to this day.
Jean Augusine has paved the way for a lot of the organizations that have been established and still running to this day such as women's rights, violence against women and organizing the first Caribana festival which was established in 1967. Let us not forget that she was the first black woman to have been elected to the House Of Commons and has been elected again in 1997, 2000, 2002 and 2004.
You’ll be posting loads of engaging content, so be sure to keep your blog organized with Categories that also allow visitors to explore more of what interests them.
The list goes on when it comes to the many of the accomplishments that Jean Augustine has made and contributed to the community.
It was such a pleasure to serve her with some of our treats here from #NutmegSpiced.
